Costa Teguise

Well here we are, Christmas in the Canaries ut solet and it's Lanzarote's turn again.
Ten years ago I carted around a couple of Canons which used that filmy stuff, this time I used my nice new Panasonic LX100 which has a neat trick of doing panoramas in one go, the downside is that you have to use the scrollbars to see the whole photo'.

View from the room

    hint - ^^ scrollbar ^^

or like this after sunset

View the other way of the port and power station

A fair old sunset

apart from the sh1t pouring out of the chimbleys.

Not a bad khazi

but no bleedin' hooks so we took a trip to the local FerretsЯUs.

and bought a couple of these

View outside the room

And a not so pleasant one on the balcony

Previous inmates used the windowbox as an ashtray

View from a sunbed

A rather quiet resort, the Melia was full so we ended up here

it was alright

This worked very well and kept us comfy

Once posh benches dotted around the town

A short step away is Plaza Pueblo Marinero

Created by the local hero

It has a bandstand and lots of bars and restaurants

This place was pretty good for cocktails

and this plaice had excellent seafood and very interesting carved wooden walls

The bar next door was rather splendid

with the most relaxed and efficient owner

One evening this lot turned up to break our eardrums

watch the video and break yours

Another day and we walked to the Melia

lots of Manrique styling and a stunning atrium open to the sky

Lovely walk back, this is the posher side of town

Hello Vera

No idea

Self portrait

Oops, just out of the ground and abandoned

Another sort of monumenty thing

Looking from the other side

we saw a square rainbow, pravda. ¿Amazeballs or what?

And it's not lens flare

Christmas Eve grub

Generally the hotel food was pretty ordinaire but they busted the budget for the 24th, here's a variation on croquembouche

We normally give any hotel cabaret a wide berth 'cause it's sh1t but this was Christmas Eve and

these three tenors were very impressive

In fact they were so good that a few folks moved some comfy chairs to the edge of the balcony which was all very fine until the chap in the orange shirt came along and slung them out.

¡Feliz Navidad ya nazi!

Another dinner, this time in the Mercado Diecisiete or Market 17 if you don't speak foreign.

They have a very nice mirror

and some very posh wine

A simmer tree

Penultimate picture, very silly but made I laugh

Adiós cuatro tres ocho
